sheet starch

One of the usual methods for producing cardboard sheets is that a sheet of paper is curled by a curling roller (flute) and then glue is applied to the tip of the curling and a sheet of paper called a liner is placed on it. They stick together by applying heat and pressure. This product is also known as “single face”. Usually, this single sheet is produced by sending it to the second stage and placing a sheet of paper on the other side of the flute, a “double face” sheet is produced. You can see these steps in Figure 1.

Description

Starch glue is usually used in the sheet industry. Corn starch is the main component of glue. The most common method for producing starch glue is the Stein-Hall method. This method is a two-part water system. A portion of this system usually consists of cooked or gelatinized starch, which is used as a carrier. The second phase consists of ungelatinized raw starch to which borax is usually added. The second phase is also called the hidden phase or potential adhesive because this part does not have adhesive properties yet, and after being applied to the tip of the flute due to heat and pressure, it becomes gelatinized and becomes adhesive. Then these two phases are mixed together and a uniform adhesive is created.

Commonly, raw corn starch is used to prepare glue. Special starches can also be used to increase the efficiency of the adhesive and improve the performance of the sheet-making process. For example, it is possible to modify the starch and improve the adhesion of the resulting adhesive, or by developing a special type of starch, the speed of the sheet production process can be increased.

One of the starches produced in the Zar collection is sheet starch. This starch can be used in the process of glue production increase the speed of sheet production and also increase the adhesion strength of the resulting glue. Below are the benefits of Zur Sheet Starch:

Increasing production efficiency by increasing the speed of the sheet production line (50-100% speed increase);
increasing the strength of adhesive adhesion;
reducing the consumption of starch;
stability of glue viscosity;
reduce production costs;
